Brendan Colvert lives and works on the small Scottish island of Sanday, Orkney. Since arriving at this remote outpost in 1998 he has committed his time to painting as a daily ritual and purpose. In filtering the complex relationship between the tranquility and wildness of this immutable archipelago, and the complexities of the world beyond, he has created an extraordinary body of work, with a unique vision and a universal frame of reference.
Brendan Colvert has been included in the prestigious John Moores Painting Prize, Liverpool, and recent exhibitions in Orkney include, Incoming at the Grainstore, Kirkwall, Ella Campaign at the Loft Gallery, Orkney and most recently at Stove Gallery, Sanday. Let it Fall is his first solo show in London.
